    Hey all,  I’m Dave Wrede, Technical Content Lead for Pulumi, and I wanted to let you know that we just made a major refactoring change to the Programming Model topic in the docs (https://github.com/pulumi/docs/pull/4707).  We’ve heard feedback that it was difficult to find specific content within this topic, so we’ve taken what was in the Programming Model topic and refactored the content into separate conceptual topics under the Architecture and Concepts section. If you have bookmarked any anchor links with the old Programming Model topic, they should redirect cleanly to the new locations, but please post a comment in #docs if you run into any issues. General feedback on this change (or anything related to the docs) is also welcome. Thanks!

    Hi everyone - We recently posted a new blog about the pulumi-eks package for easily provisioning EKS clusters, which is now available in all languages! 🎉 But also noteworthy is the feature that forms the foundation of this update - what we’re internally dubbing “multi-language components.” This feature, which is still in development and not yet generally available, will enable easily building reusable components that can be shared across the entire Pulumi ecosystem and all languages. If you’re interested, the blog post goes into some detail about this feature and where its development is heading next. Enjoy! 😛ulumipus-8bit: read the blog --> https://www.pulumi.com/blog/create-eks-clusters-in-your-favorite-language/

    Hey folks! We have just shipped the preview of Automation API for Python! Running your Pulumi program is now as simple as running
    python my_file.py
    Check out the blog post to learn more. Examples We have a number of examples ready for you to take for a spin over in the examples repo, and we’d love to see your contributions for how you are using automation API in your projects. • Inline Program • Local Program • Cross-Language Program • Database Migration • Pulumi over HTTP • Pulumi w/ Jupyter Notebook Try it out! The Automation API still requires a Pulumi CLI installation. You’ll need a CLI version >= v2.9.2 and >=v2.17.1 of the pulumi package. We’d love to hear your feedback as you start using Automation API in your own projects. We have a list of known issues and we encourage you to leave notes and open more issues as you come across them. 🏭🏭🏭 Happy automating! 🏭🏭🏭

    Hi everyone, I just wanted to send out a quick announcement that we’ve just replaced our previous site search engine with Swiftype. The new input text box is right above the left nav and has an auto-complete or full search overlay for you to use (hit enter after the keyword to get the full search experience). The result sets and overall search experience should be much better now, so give it a try and let us know what you think over in #docs. Thanks!

    Friends, recently we shipped an important update to the GitHub Action to no longer require a docker based container. This makes each CI run approx 3 mins faster 🙂 We are now built on top of the Pulumi automation api and we wrote about it - https://www.pulumi.com/blog/supercharging-our-github-action-with-the-pulumi-automation-api/ Thanks to @elegant-window-55250 for all of the hard work he put in to make this upgrade happen! Hello friends! Our work to deliver a native Pulumi provider for Microsoft Azure has hit a key milestone: it’s now in public preview and is the provider we suggest using for any new project targeting Microsoft Azure. You can read more about the provider on the blog, check out the newly-updated Azure getting started guide, or learn how to migrate an existing project to the new provider. We’re eager for your feedback - feel free to let us know your thoughts here or file an issue in the pulumi-azure-native repo.

    Hey everyone! Pulumi just launched .NET support for the Automation API preview. You can read about it on the blog or checkout some examples on github. It was really cool to get the chance to make a contribution like this to the Pulumi SDK as a community member, especially since we'll be using it heavily where I work for some complex internal deployment workflows. I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone else is able to build with it!

    Hey folks! Another update on automation API - this time for Go and Nodejs. I just merged 6436 and 6454, which will add the ability to stream structured json events for
    Stack.Up()
    ,
    Stack.Preview()
    ,
    Stack.Refresh()
    and
    Stack.Destroy()
    . For Go, you will now be able to pass in an array of channels to receive events via the
    EventStreams
    option. Take a look at the included tests for an example of this in use. For Nodejs, you will be able to pass an
    onEvent
    event handler option. Take a look at the included tests for an example of this in use. These changes will be included in the upcoming minor version release (next week). ❗ Please note: for Go’s
    Stack.Preview()
    , this is a breaking change as we have changed the shape of the
    PreviewResult
    struct to align with the other commands, meaning that you can now use
    ProgressStreams
    for incremental output just like in
    Up
    ,
    Destroy
    and
    Refresh
    . Please take a look at the CHANGELOG in the release or the PR description for specific details on what has changed. Support for other languages will follow shortly: • python is under development • we would welcome contributions for C# if anyone feels inspired!

    Dear Community friends, we are delighted to announce the release of Pulumi 3.0-beta.1! If you are interested in taking this new beta release for a test drive then please have a read through our migration guide - https://www.pulumi.com/docs/get-started/install/migrating-3.0/ A few points to note: • We made a change to stack select behaviour • We have made important performance improvements for our Go SDKs ◦ There is a small breaking change regarding the Go SDK in that Apply<T> has now disappeared and we suggest people use ApplyT • We have moved the automation api to be out of the "X" namespace Please do let us know any feedback that you have regarding the beta and and issues you may encounter!

    Hi folks! 👋 We just merged a change that moves much of our documentation out of pulumi/docs and into a new repository at https://github.com/pulumi/pulumi-hugo. As of now, pulumi/docs contains only our generated documentation, like CLI docs, SDK docs, and the tutorials we generate from https://github.com/pulumi/examples. Everything else, including the blog, landing pages and other reference documentation, is now managed in pulumi/pulumi-hugo. The contribution workflow is still mostly the same, but it does mean that any open PRs will need to be moved to the new repository. If you have any questions or run into any issues, please let us know. Thanks as always for your contributions and support!

    Friends, happy to say that we just released Pulumi 3.0.0-beta.2! If you are interested in trying this out, please have a look at our migration-3.0 guide https://www.pulumi.com/docs/get-started/install/migrating-3.0/ Please note, that since 3.0.0-beta.1, we've had 2 more "breaking changes": • pulumi.runtime.Mocks - newResource and call now accept a MockResourceArgs / MockCallArgs class - this is to ensure we can add additional properties to these Mocks in the future without any breaking changes • Dictionary snake_case/camelCase Key Translation Fixes in Provider Python SDKs Please let us know if you try it out and find any issues!

    👋 hi all! As you may have noticed, we’re rolling out the GA build of Pulumi 3.0 and all the providers. We’ll make another post here when the rollout is complete. We’re excited for you to try the new release and to hear all of your feedback. We’d also love to see you at PulumiUP tomorrow, where we’ll be talking about all the improvements and new features that are in Pulumi 3.0.

    Today at PulumiUP we are officially announcing Pulumi 3.0. We believe that Pulumi 3.0 will form the foundation of the new Pulumi Cloud Engineering Platform! Pulumi 3.0 will help bring cloud engineering best practices to your organization so that teams can build, deploy, and manage modern cloud applications using the best version of Pulumi to-date. We’ve listened to your feedback and we’re excited to share that 3.0 has added over 70 new features and over 1,000 improvements since 2.0 with 150 community members contributing to help us make these improvements! We’ve also released a shiny new update to the look and feel of the Pulumi Console. We can't wait to see what you do with 3.0 - please let me know!! We have a number of events this week to help launch 3.0 - register at PulumiUP if you are interested! We also have a workshop on Automation API (tomorrow @ 9am PDT), Azure native (4/27 @ 9am PDT) and several more. Visit here to see the full schedule.  Key new features of Pulumi 3.0: • Azure native provider (GA) and Google Cloud Native provider (preview) provide the most complete and consistent interface for building on these platforms, with 100% API coverage of cloud platforms and same-day updates whenever the cloud platform updates its APIs. Learn more. • Automation API (now GA) exposes the full power of infrastructure as code through a programmatic interface, instead of through CLI commands. By embedding the Pulumi engine in your code, you can create software that can create, update, configure, and destroy infrastructure dynamically. Learn more. • Pulumi Packages (now GA): a new Pulumi technology that enables cloud infrastructure resource provisioning to be defined once and made available to users in all languages supported by Pulumi. Pulumi Packages are building blocks that make it easy for users to codify infrastructure best practices and share them with their team or the Pulumi community. Learn more.  • CI/CD Assistant is now available in all paid plans. It makes it easy to set up deployment of cloud infrastructure and applications through more than a dozen popular CI/CD platforms, now including Spinnaker. Learn more. • Identity and group management features including SAML SSO, SCIM synchronization, and new role types enable security teams to give the right access to the right person at the right time. Learn more. Read more about all the announcements in our summary blog post. Thanks for being part of the Pulumi community!!

    Friends, we just released Pulumi v3.1.0 with an apology notice in our CHANGELOG. TL;DR, 2 features that we listed as breaking in the 3.0 upgrade didn't actually make it into the release 😕 Therefore, we had to include them now as they were behaviours we depended upon I apologise for any problems this causes and we will make sure that this doesn't happen again! If you have any questions, then please let me know https://github.com/pulumi/pulumi/releases/tag/v3.1.0
