We will be posting the recording of today's live workshop for viewing. Tomorrow's sessions are available to everyone who was registered for the summit. Hello! I was curious - which virtual platform is the Summit running on?

Hi, I would like to do a mathematical operation on an object output, for example pulumi_azure_nextgen.netapp.latest.Pool "total_throughput_mibps" attribute. But I cannot simply "netapp_pool.total_throughput_mibps * 10", is there a way to extract the float number? Thanks

Hi, I'm trying to create a NAT Gateway using the following code

nat_gateway = aws.ec2.NatGateway(
    f"nat-gateway",
    allocation_id=elastic_ip.allocation_id,
    subnet_id=subnet.id,
    opts=ResourceOptions(provider=provider),
)

other components (vpc, elastic ip, subnet and internet gateway) are successfully created except for the NAT Gateway with this error

aws:ec2/natGateway:NatGateway resource 'nat-gateway' has a problem: Required attribute is not set

any ideas?

sorry newbie question. i was going thru the pulumi.awsworkshop.io process, every thing works fine however if for some reason, i come out of cloud 9 and go back in all work previously executed (index.ts, respective aws enviroment setups etc., subdirectory create is gone. even though the cloud9 instance and role are still valid etc. this is frustrating, should i be saving the configuration in pulumi prior to exiting cloud 9 ?

. For example in a

VirtualMachine

resource with no

admin_password

attribute and

disable_password_authentication=False

I would expect that it will throw an error, but it did not. Thanks

Anyone figure out a neat design pattern to enable GCP service api's needed per project? Like an idempotent operation to skip and proceed if already enabled.

What are the best resources on organizing pulumi code? I found the official guide lacking. I want to have a hierarchy of configs which is discussed here but seems left unanswered on what good options would be. I didn’t find out if Pulumi.yaml and Pulumi.stack.yaml will read from stack first then project. Another major question is what is the recommended way to split in multiple files. Examples show single TS file. Challenge being dependencies. I can figure it out but seeing what others are doing would be nice.

Hi, I’m new to Pulumi but I’m loving it so far. I have a question regarding EKS + Kubernetes + ELB + SSL 🙂 : I’ve created a k8s cluster backed by EKS, I’ve added a web service and I’ve exposed it as type “LoadBalancer”. With this configuration, Pulumi has created an ELB for me and I can successfully reach the service. The problem is that now I want to add an HTTPS listener to the ELB but I don’t have a reference to the ELB in the code. So: • Is it possible to tell Pulumi to create an ELB with http and https listeners when I expose a k8s service as type “LoadBalancer”? • or, is it possible to create the ELB first and then pass a reference to the service so that it uses it instead of creating a new ELB? • or, is it possible to expose the service as “ClusterIP” and then create an ELB in the same vpc of the k8s cluster and make it point to the private IP? • or, is there a better way to do this?
