We occasionally gets the infamous error "another operation (install/upgrade/rollback) is in progress" in our deployments, and I would like to hear if there are anyway to figure who is actually holding the "lease" (as described in https://www.pulumi.com/docs/support/troubleshooting/#conflict) A little background: We do our deployment of applications inside our AWS EKS cluster using Pulumi. This works fine for us, as it allows us to setup any secondary AWS infrastructure for an application along with the Helm deployment. This is things like queues, Cognito, IAM roles, API Gateway and similar. Lately, we have begun to collect the applications that belong together in a "release" and we then deploy that as a whole, by deploying each of the applications in the release one-by-one. But... we get a lot of conflict errors. When we look, we cannot find any other running Pulumi script that might be cause of the error, so we have begun to suspect that the "lease" is not properly released by one application deployment before the next application deployment starts. The deployments are in different stacks, but in the same project. So... is it possible to find the "other" conflicting Pulumi script in this case? If yes, then we can find the problem, or alternatively wait until the "lease" is properly released before proceeding.

When I run Pulumi using the automation API within a read-only filesystem, I receive an error due to Pulumi trying to write a file. I believe Pulumi tries to write a config file. Does anyone know any workarounds to run Pulumi on a read-only filesystem?

`pulumi preview`/`pulumi up` are both giving inconsistent previews. I’ll run

pulumi preview

and it will say that I have 1 resource to delete from AWS, and then I’ll run it a few seconds later and it will report that 7 resources need to be deleted. Then I’ll run it again and there will be a completely different set of resources it wants to delete. This is all without me making any changes the the underlying resource definitions at all. Interestingly this is only happening with

aws:glue:CatalogTable

resources — my other resource types don’t seem to be impacted. My state is local in

./.pulumi

and I’m on pulumi version 3.67.1 on MacOS. Any suggestions on what might be going on?

Hi, I’m creating an EC2 instance and I want to change its routing table. The problem comes when I’m trying to override the default routing rule of the VPC (10.0.0.0/16 to local). Does anyone know how to create a routing table that overrides /changes the default setting? Note, I can’t change the default routing table of the VPC because I need it for other instances

Hi there! I'm trying to import some vSphere resources into Pulumi, but the import commands aren't documented. I've been able to reverse engineer/guess-and-check a few things but I'm stuck on importing a compute cluster. I try

pulumi import vsphere:index/computeCluster:ComputeCluster hampshire_cluster "/DATACENTER/CLUSTER"

with the correct datacenter and cluster names, but I always get

error: Preview failed: importing /DATACENTER/CLUSTER: error loading cluster: cluster '/DATACENTER/CLUSTER' not found

My guess is that I'm missing some part of the path to the cluster... Does anybody have any advice on how to figure out how to format the <id> portion of the import command until the documentation is updated?

Hi guys! I've been working on a Airflow stack in my company, and there is a step I don't know the best strategy to implement it. There is some dependency between some ECS containers going up when i'm doing a database migration that runs with a

airflow db upgrade

, but I need to run this command once some scripts stopped running inside the ECS containers, so this I have to watch for this containers to be ready after being replaced, and then run the command. What's the best strategy in this case to run a script inside a container after a task definition in ECS and it's container/task is replaced AND a process inside it's container already finished?
