Pricing question: "As the number of stacks grows, the cost of stacks decreases." At https://www.pulumi.com/pricing/ it says 10 stacks are $235. That means that 100 stacks should be at most $2,350 but on the web site it is $2,680. Looks like an error, right?

Good example of RBAC implementation managed by Pulumi?

searched the examples repo for 'rbac' and found only one reference and that's due to the Prometheus helm chart doing things

Essentially want to give devs Kubernetes Engine Viewer globally and then scope devs to their individual namespaces

Question: https://pulumi.io/reference/pkg/nodejs/@pulumi/aws/applicationloadbalancing/#Listener where are "action blocks" actually defined?

guys, do you have any documentation around accepting pull requests and also working with your test harness?

Parts of the test harness use secrets to test against AWS/GCP/whatever so you might need to run those locally.

thanks @creamy-potato-29402 I was working in
    pulumi-cloud
    couldn’t see
    contributing.md
    I see things like
    ${VERSION}
    in
    package.json
    which killed
    npm install
    dead tho
    yarn install
    appeared to be better

I am new to Pulumi so forgive my ignorance. Can I use pulumi to create k8s clusters in AWS/GKE/Azure without writing any specific code for them ? With terraform I cannot do that. What about pulumi ?
  • s

    sparse-insurance-40223

    10/23/2018, 1:23 PM
the code to configure the cluster will be unique to the provider
  • b

    boundless-room-36997

    10/23/2018, 1:26 PM
so from that point of view (this particular task) does it have any advantage over terraform ?
  • s

    sparse-insurance-40223

    not in that sense no

but it's way nicer to have a type safe language etc.

if you're using multiple clouds you might get a nice benefit from writing code to fulfill a common interface so you only need one set of config
  • b

    boundless-room-36997

    10/23/2018, 1:29 PM
so basically (I know python) can I have some generic Python code and then add some cloud specific functions and call them ? Is that what you mean ?
  • s

    sparse-insurance-40223

    10/23/2018, 1:30 PM
well i dont know python but i was thinking you might want an IPobsCluster interface with an implementation for each cloud provider then pump your config into each

Is there a preferred way to handle delays, like when waiting for permissions to propagate, other than setTimeout()?
