Are `Pulumi.yaml` `secure` secrets safe to check into a repository?

Or an access credential present in ~/.pulumi/credentials.json?

Depens what type of backend you are using, managed or self-managed. But as tenwit mentinoed, if you don't store any credential files or passphrases in plaintext, you should be fine imo
