every resource that gets stored in pulumi state gets a URN to identify it uniquely. there’s more info here: https://www.pulumi.com/docs/intro/concepts/resources/names/
m
Which is Pulumi URN. What is “Provider” then? Its very confusing for users, we had a lot of questions today during the workshop

Do you mean in the new Resources page? That's the URN of the provider resource.
Right now, it's the only way to tell where a resource is deployed.
m
But it doesn’t show AWS ARN for example as “Provider URN” and there is no documentation what is “Provider URN” (not “Pulumi URN”) - or am I missing it?
l
No, it's the URN of the provider resource. This feature is new and still under development; documentation is probably still being created. Maybe this could be cross-posted to #C02DM3GH4TY for a more targeted audience? I'll post it in #C04NLM5FG2G.

we’ve added tool tips to the column headers that explain what each column’s data represents, although this does still assume you know what a provider resource is. very open to any suggestions around how to improve this!
