Ok I can see It's hardcoded in diy/store.go. Is there any way to avoid that rule?

Not currently, there's an issue raised about having someway to configure it: <https://github.com/pulumi/pulumi/issues/13980>

Also those '=' chars in the stack name won't be valid either.
