with the new beta.3 operator, i'm seeing this error on the operator:
http: TLS handshake error from 127.0.0.6:51111: client sent an HTTP request to an HTTPS server

it appears to be functioning still but those errors are concerning

i have debug mode on the controller but i still don't see what it is reaching out to, to even troubleshoot the connection.

perhaps i need to set it to an integer value to increase logs?

metrics are secure by default in operator v2, starting the operator with `--metrics-secure=false` will disable this although we might not currently expose that option via some of the deploy methods.
