Can you share some code please (you can email it to support@pulumi.com if you don't want to share it here) and also run

pulumi up --logtostderr -v=9 2> out.txt

and send that out.txt to support as well that will help us to investigate

Hey Piers, yeah I can try to reproduce today and will send info to support. Last night the first push did eventually finish after a little over an hour, and subsequent image pushes took just a couple minutes
