Typically, parents are only used by the component hierarchy, and Resource Groups are not a component. So it’s not common to do this - but there’s also nothing stopping you from doing it if it makes sense for your use case. 

i'm using components for the first time and trying to make the graph outputs more expressive so i think it might help for our case where a component is always self-contained in an RG
