Please do feel free to make suggestions like this (and always feel free to file an issue, e.g. over at https://github.com/pulumi/pulumi-aws). For some providers (like AWS), you're right that we do rely on Terrafrom Providers; however, Pulumi is a different engine, we often contribute back to the providers and therefore can make changes to them, and in some cases (like Kubernetes) we use native providers and have full control. TL;DR, always want to hear about usability improvement opportunities 🙂
