For S3 I believe it's `bucket` <https://www.pulumi.com/docs/reference/pkg/aws/s3/bucket/#bucket_nodejs>

right; for buckets you want to set that `bucket` field which will override whatever Pulumi wants to choose for the name

I find in genereal that setting `name` in the options as well as the first param to a resource does the trick
