Kubernetes doesn’t use TF at all, and there will be further developments along these lines in the future.

The engine is also completely separate. The providers (basically drivers for cloud resources) are mostly based on TF at this point.

<@UF8ACTKPV> another good example of a provider that doesn't use terraform at all (ironically!) is the Terraform remote state provider.
