that's pretty cool. do you think anyone who's deploying actual complex applications are basically using a bunch of custom tooling to make things happen?

I think there are a wide variety of things going on from more sophisticated gitops workflows (operator) to mountains of shell, and even manually driven updates.
No matter how you like to participate in developer communities, Pulumi wants to meet you there.
