It seems what was created is not an organization, but rather an admin account of all future organizations. The UI just doesn't distinguish between those two at all, and the namespace for both user accounts and organizations is the same.
Rename Account Renaming your Pulumi organization impacts everywhere the name is used, such as in stack references or your CI/CD pipelines.Your Pulumi organization will be read-only while being renamed, and you will not be able to update your stacks.
That's a little confusing 🙂

I can imagine as this is a trial that you may be albe to continue with that org for now and the support team will fix it all up when they come online

Actually I managed to rename the account. I got confused by the action description which appears to be a bug in the UI.
