I don't think we have this option - it's something that comes from EKS user data and is modified by eksctl in a different way. Please feel free to open an issue for it

you should be able to pass it through as an env var: https://github.com/weaveworks/eksctl/blob/6725e438846db1121f99317cd31a78662a8f8fca/pkg/nodebootstrap/userdata.go#L153
