We are about to merge (like in the next few hours) a full re-write of our unit test suite using the new monitor mock feature

it's on a private on-prem bitbucket server, sorry!

but.. i'm happy to report that our full test suite run has gone from ~15-20 minutes (depending on who's running it) to 17 seconds!!!
