Yes - this is one of several fairly significant current limitations of the Go support for Pulumi. See <https://github.com/pulumi/pulumi/issues/1614>. We’ve to date been more focused on TypeScript and Python, but do expect to make significant improvements for Go as well in the future. 

We’re definitely also open to design discussion on <https://github.com/pulumi/pulumi-aws/issues/248> about how best to project the Pulumi object model to Go (as well as PRs!)
