Yes, I assume it is because it is referenced outside the if statement? So how can I reference it e within the return block. Thank you

I’m not trying to be difficult, but it seems you need to spend a day (at least) on basic coding tutorials. I gave you some pointers; I don’t have time to fix your code for you when it is so simple, because you have more than one problem. If you want to code, you are going to have to learn to teach yourself. It might be painful for a while, but stick with it, persevere and you can do it. Good luck.
