it looks like you are building a `Resource` not a `ComponentResource` IMO
ComponentResource only reuses existing providers.
It should not need any installation. (unless it's a separate package)

Right you are! I’d managed to use `pulumi.CustomResourceState` rather than `pulumi.ResourceState` in my resource struct
