I’m starting write some new stacks for Azure and I was wondering if I should go ahead and use the azure-nextgen ? Is it relatively stable any known issues?
t
It should be relatively stable now but some breaking changes will be coming. We are targeting GA in Q1. We don’t officially encourage production usage until then but I know that some folks do use it for real projects.

@tall-librarian-49374 So the general recommendation is to not use it? Will it be possible to migrate states created using the legacy plugin to the new one ?
t
The migration will likely be a manual process, since the shapes of resources are sometimes very different
We’d love you to use the new provider and give us your feedback, if you are okay to deal with some breaking changes and bug fixes along the way
“Breaking changes” are most likely compile-time changes, we won’t break your actual resources (I hope)

OK great, this sort of “breaking changes” is totally acceptable, breaking the state is something we couldn’t live it.
