Hey, does Pulumi allow people to build providers and submit them to be added to the tool?

Yes we do - so we don't have a detailed guide (yet!) but I am always happy to get on a call and talk through building one

Honestly I was hoping to start building an internal provider for my company. Im trying to get us onboard with Pulumi however Im not sure what to do as the site just says contact us. Eventually though Id like to make a VMWare Vsphere provider

on that note...do you happen to know how to get  a conversation started with your sales folks? Maybe also have someone help with getting us excited about adopting your product?

I give a lot of talks on Pulumi and would be happy to set up a demo to try and show people the things you can do with it rather than just using the CLI

how to build custom tooling around this etc

Well the custom tools would be for an app I made that runs our companies infrastructure automation. Think of it as a smaller version of Amazon EC2 console but for on premise
